Verónica Castillo is a Mexican-born Olmec sculptor who has her studio in San Antonio, Texas, for over 2o years. Castillo is a highly renowned, fourth-generation master of Mexican popular art.

Kathy Sosa is a contemporary American painter who moved to the borderland region of Texas as a child, and whose work centers on her life in mestisaje, the blending of peoples and cultures.
